Leia teaches piano and violin lessons at her home studio (Coquitlam), she has a passion in inspiring music lovers of all ages. She especially loves working with young beginners, as little as 4, music brings a constructive shaping on emotional, intellectual and social & behavioural development.
Rooted in Hong Kong, Leia demonstrated an innate musical maturity and astounding technical abilities from an early age of 4, founded the academy since 1997. Her pianist and pedagogy career took off as she completed her studies in music and performance (piano, violin and music theory). Audiences are all stunned by the depth and power of her musical expression in numerous private recitals she has given in different parts of the world.
She has performed in different locations of Europe, North America and Asia over 20 times. She has also appeared in music festivals as guest pianist. Having mastered a formidable concerto repertoire at early age, she performed with orchestra already in high school as well as her alma mater The University of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
Relocating to Vancouver, Leia starts to offer private piano, violin and theory lessons at home studio, to students of all ages. For over 20 years in music education, she has gained recognition and dedicated students from all over the world (UK, USA, Japan, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong). Most students achieved excellent progress and astonishing results in short years under her mentorship.
Leia promotes personalised creative learning to excel each student’s uniqueness to develop their own style, expertise and strength in performance. She has a unique method in cultivating great incentive in children, to learn – practice – perform. Most importantly allowing students to enjoy music, being able to establish confidence in showcasing their hardwork, together with keenness in furthering to higher level of artistry.
