Teaching Philosophy

THE PURPOSE
As a piano teacher, my passion and expertise is to instill a lifelong love and appreciation for music in my students, especially young children. I strongly believe that early musical experiences can shape not only a child’s musical ability but also their confidence, focus, intelligence and creativity.

THE CULTURE
My teaching approach is established on creating a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment where children feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and grow. I strive to balance structure and play, using age-appropriate methods and materials that make learning both effective and enjoyable. Whether through songs, games, movement, or storytelling, I aim to connect musical concepts to the child’s world and interests.

THE PRIORITIES
Each child is unique, and I tailor my lessons to meet individual learning styles, needs and personalities. I emphasize foundational skills such as rhythm, note reading, and technique, but I also encourage improvisation, ear training, and expression from the very beginning. My goal is to nurture well-rounded musicians who are both capable and inspired.

Personal, patience, consistency and encouragement are the pillars of my teaching. I believe in celebrating small victories, defining long term goals and maintaining open communication with both students and parents. Together, we can create a supportive musical journey that builds not only pianists but also confident, joyful learners.

THE METHODS
I have a few go-to books when it comes to teaching materials customizing lessons for students at different phase of learning. I also use a wide range of technique books to master the different tones and colors of music through the ages.
